Not sure why anyone would want to move beyond Perl 4.

Oh, never mind, even I have moved beyond Perl 4:

C:\Steve\Dev\PerlMonks>perl -v This is perl, v5.8.9 built for MSWin32-x64-multi-thread (with 12 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail)

Apparently I need sleep. Or coffee. Still.
