Please KEEP the parent and edit by restoring original content rather than reaping.

"My _values need a chomp - any suggestions for a one-liner to do the split and chomp?"

Perl_Ally As a newcomer you may not have known, but it is regarded as extremely bad form to delete content, once posted. Use <strike>....</strike> instead. Otherwise, answers don't have any context. And, NJBTW, if your question now embarases you because you've found the answer with Search, Super Search or your favorite web-wide search engine... well, most of us have earned red faces for similar sins.

thomas895: next time, check a Not-So-Far-Back macbine, Corion's http://corion.net/perlmonks/nnnnnmn.xml (where the 'n's are the offending node's id), before considering "reap" rather than "restore original content."
