Some sites are built primarily as question and answer sites. They have a software feature to allow the person asking a question to mark it as answered or to select the best answer. That seems to work very well for those sites. Stack Overflow is probably the best-known example of that kind of question-and-answer site.
Perlmonks is more of a discussion site. Questions prompt conversations and often more questions. There is no "this answers my question" button. Such a feature may or may not be welcome here. I don't know. It could be very helpful for your intended purpose but at what cost? Costs would include retrofitting that sort of feature into the code and potential watering down of the discussion aspect of the site.
I think it could be enlightening to compare and contrast the style of discourse on Stack Overflow with that of PM's Seekers of Perl Wisdom. Both have their place I suppose, but I'd prefer to keep the style PM currently has.
