The message would be of different depths depending on how much time you've spent in the UK... Ie, exactly what you consider to be pants. I shudders every time I remember the time I walked into a camping store in London and asked for Gore-Tex pants. Being British they politely informed me that I needed a geriatric store. Took me a while to realize what exactly they were on about. :-)
