Q&A Timestamps

Why do questions (and answers) in the Q&A section not have timestamps, like every other post? Is it because they are supposed to be a sort of "permanent reference" and not subject to the transient nature of the other posts? I would like to see timestamps on them, just like every other post, unless there is a very compelling reason otherwise.
