They didn't reinvent the wheel for the sake of reinventing
the wheel. They did it to get something better, because they
were not satisfied with was already out there.
And that's exactly the reason I've been given in this thread when I decide not to use a module, but roll my own. Larry didn't write Perl to get a better understanding of awk. Abigail
