I have been told years ago that was a festive place in the Asterix comic book way but pretty poor as quality food goes. I don't know if it is still true today but you can guess so by reading the "menu" (plenty to eat but run of the mill).

Sure, I was not expecting "haute cuisine", but it was more for the atmosphere and ambiance that I was choosing it.
