-m is like use Module::module;

looks wrong to me. I think it is like use Module ();

I'm open to suggestions for a simple way to show symbols not being imported from a module :) Originally I wrote:

use Module(fuction); (-M)
and
use Module(); (-m)

but I thought newbies would get confused.

Correct. Proof:

$ perl -MO=Deparse -MCGI -e ''
-e syntax OK
use CGI;
();

$ perl -MO=Deparse -mCGI -e ''
-e syntax OK
use CGI ();
