Fries are certainly best served on a plate on top of a piece of toasted bread and a meat of your choice (mine is usually spicy chicken in a Buffalo wing type sauce or Italian beef) and under a cheese and white wine sauce (I prefer white cheese, but yellow is okay and fairly popular). In central Illinois, this is known as a horseshoe, and a half order is therefore known as a ponyshoe. It was invented in the state capital, Springfield, which is where I've lived for the past couple of years. It's a must-have local specialty when you visit.

BTW, a Breakfast Horseshoe is toast, pork sausage patty and/or bacon, hashbrowns, and sausage gravy, (preferably with lots of black pepper and/or pepper sauce in my case).

Because this was not an option, I had to point out that whatever you eat is better when dining with CowboyNeal (or so I've heard, because we've never actually met, but I'd love to have someone new come to visit).

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
