( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Hm. Since we've organized the site a little differently, e.g. not along application types, I'm leaning against this.

Now, if you want to post a number of CUFP's to warrant a special section, I might be willing to reconsider my vote. However, we'd also need some sample CGI scripts, system administration tools, database manipilation thingies, and so on. Oh, wait, don't we already have something like that (alt.)?

Regardless, you might also find this small smattering of (additional) links interesting:

In my experience, many folks prefer to use C++, Java, Flash, and other tools for this sort of thing. Mind you, I'm not trying to suggest that it can't be done (heck, dungeon was written in Fortran, if memory serves), just that we probably aren't quite ready for a special section for it.

My two cents worth...

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
