I can't wait to tell someone, "Gotta go see if the Vote Fairy has been around, because I'm almost a Potato".

"Oh, the Sixties were good to you..."

“I yam what I yam and that’s all that I yam.”

      Makeshifts last the longest.

I think you'll find we need two levels of 'Potato', both pronounced 'Potayto', but some people will choose to believe that one (or both) is in fact 'Potahto' because there shouldn't be a pronunciation guide.

If this idea gets taken up, this post should be hidden from all below the level of Grand Poo Bah (which is of course, higher than both Potato and Potato).

    A couple more possibilities:

    • Unctuous Hierophant
    • Effing Pedant

So long as we don't use the title Dancing Monkeyboy, I'm cool with it.

Although if someone is passing out titles, I'd like to call dibs on "A Tale of Two Cities".

Clearly, what with the history of the inquisition, I've met at least one Perl Grand Inquisitor in my time!

    But "Potato"? "Perl Potato"? Rubbish.

I would never want to become a 'know-it-all'. I love 'saint of syntax' though

I dont like the idea of giving monks vegetable names either.

Sometimes I feel slightly embarrassed when having to deal with people whose family names sound like vegetables - uttering them just feels so strange.
It might even sound humiliating in some situations.

This FAQ entry about pumpkins shows me though how culture sneakes them in anyway...

      The name’s Patch. Cabbage Patch.

Considering the nature of the beast that is Perl, I doubt if anyone can "Know-it-all".

Phooey on the overly-sensitive. I like the Grand Inquisitor rank! If I attained that rank, I would definitely buy the appropriate PM swag...
