Regardless of the technical merits that others are discussing, the name is confusing; witness:

Grap is a language for typesetting graphs specified and first implemented by Brian Kernighan and Jon Bentley at Bell Labs.
Because grap is a text-based language and processor for the *roff family of typesetting programs, the Text:: prefix makes it worse....
