"tar Wars" although "perl Harbor" was a close second. Of course the all time classic is "Gone with the WINE".

tar Wars? Is that the movie where a guy in a black umask goes "join our pack or die" or something like that?

Well i had to vote for OpenOffice.org Space since that movie is quite possibly one of the most inheirently funny movies of all time. Definately a classic moment when he pushes over the wall of his cubicle.

    -mav

I've only rearranged a few cubicle walls before, and let me say that it's never been that easy for me to take out a cube wall.

Our current ones require pulling off the top place, loosening a few bolts, then pulling up a bar that locks in the bottom. (we combined two cubes into one last year ... which is tricky when they've routed power and network through one of the walls you're moving).

I've also dealt with one where there was a plastic strip on each side of the joint ... the exterior one came off easy, but the far side was blocked by a cabinet, so had to slide a wire down from above. (for some reason, the director got annoyed by me making my own door, but I had to do something as he decided to come over my baby gate wrapped in caution tape. (which is funny, in that he tripped on the way over)).

... But um ... I voted for that choice, too, based on the quality of the movie and its relevence to programmers. (did any of you see Pearl Harbor? I'm guessing those who voted for 'perl Harbor' didn't).

Maybe they (we), who voted for perl Harbor, did so because the have seen Pearl Harbor, and figure this just has to be better.

        print substr("Just another Perl hacker", 0, -2);

classic? man that was revolutionary!!! that set a standard for all that hate their jobs and know there's something bigger out there! even though it's construction woodworking labor crap, i felt i could really relate to Peter after oh, THREE days at this job i have now. And inherintly (sp?) funny is an understatement...i have the whole movie almost memorized and i still laugh until i cry every time i see it, especially everything with the Bobs or Lumberg.

Good post, i'm glad office space still gets it's deserved recognition. I'd hope for a sequel but i wouldn't want to tarnish the original's image with a crappy second.

Oh, i voted for OpenOffice.org Space btw :-D

      meh.

I voted for zcat on a Hot Tin Roof (the 1958 version).

Elizabeth Taylor (who, at the time could make Michelangelo's David sweat), Paul Newman. Burl Ives.

I guess Sleep less in Seattle wasn't punny enough 8-) (and ++Meg Ryan)

Absolutely! But wasn't that the famous cat On A Hot tin Roof?

Otherwise, trn would have to do in the absence of strn or nn...

      Cheers, Sören

Have to go with Trn. Especially if the soundtrack includes that famous tune by The Byrds, "Trn, trn, trn"

All code is usually tested, but rarely trusted.

I believe that's what the trn option was for.

    Hi,
Slashdot has had a stupid Mario poll for almost two weeks now, do you guys think I could submit this (excellent) poll there? The polls aren't credited, but I could attempt a first post with the explanation ;-)
