I have been in the computer industry for almost 30 years now, starting out as a COBOL programmer on HP MPE3000 servers, moving in to administration first on HP-UX machines, then on SUN servers until today when I maintain both SUN/Oracle and RHEL clusters.
I started out as a COBOL programmer, then C and the Perl (with a little BASIC and PASCAL on the side), I have been using Perl for some ten years or so now so feel I am conversant in it, but would never call myself an expert.
