I would like to point out that
Which came first: The chicken or the egg?
is very different than the simular question
Which came first: The chicken or the chicken egg?
This first is obvious the second is less obvious, but completely semantic.

    Care to elaborate on the obvious.

      There were dinosaur eggs long before there were chickens...
        That assumes that dinosaurs existed before chickens.
