I can afford to spend so much time at the Monastery because:

  • I got rich using Perl before the bubble burst
  • I work from home
  • With my dectupled productivity (thanks to Perl), I only need to work 1 hour per day
  • Parents' basement... 'nuff said
  • I'm independently wealthy
  • Sugar daddy/momma
  • I can't (or, Hi, my name's ____, and I'm an addict)
  • Perl is critical to my job and I can't afford not to
