...misses something important, compared to "real" blogs: an RSS (or atom) feed.

Somehow I knew someone would bring this up.

I know it's not perfect, but there is:

Between the mind which plans and the hands which build, there must be a mediator... and this mediator must be the heart.

It's much better than nothing, although not perfect.
Somehow I knew someone would bring this up.

And I know why you knew it - because it's not obvious how to find it. RSS feeds are usually linked in the page header with <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="..."> so that the browser or feed readers can discover it automatically.

Having neither that nor a link labeled "RSS" or "Feed" or so renders it basically invisible - except for those who had the luck of reading this thread ;-)

The meditations now have a RSS feed, linked through <link rel="...">. Thanks for hand-feeding me the parts :)

Now all the sections have RSS links.

Maybe we could get this added to some of the aggregators like Planet Perl?

[Your Mother]: I am quite aware that Module::Build is MUCH more in favor with many monks but I had trouble with it every time I tried to use it and trouble with CPAN stuff that used it too.
[Your Mother]: Take my advice with a grain of salt. I haven't done a new CPAN release in years at this point.
[LanX]: I want to author a new module for CPAN w/o complicated build structure
[LanX]: ther is also Dist::Zilla :-/
[LanX]: How to make a CPAN Module Distribution from 2002
[Your Mother]: Dist::Zilla is kind of the nuclear option. I set it up back in the day but it's really targeted at authors who are managing MANY modules and want to automate everything.
[erix]: perlancar should know ;)
[LanX]: see warning
