The developers group exists out of the box in each Everything installation. It serves as the owner of certain infrastructural nodes, but otherwise is unused. Its only member is root — a special user which, like the developers group, automatically exists in Everything. root has been used by the gods in the past to perform certain privileged operations, but nowadays it is essentially unused, as anything root can do, a god can do.
