Oh, indeed — I hadn’t bumped into those codes. But even so, there’s already an option in Display Settings where one can (sort of) change the behaviour of the [cpan://...] command, only for one’s own viewing pleasure. So I wonder if it’s possible to make them all behave like [meta{mod,cpan}://...] commands, or feasible at all. Besides hacking around with LanX’s script that is :)
Might be just me, but I really dislike the old CPAN now that there’s a nicer one — and I bet there are some oldskool people out there who would get uneasy about people linking to MetaCPAN. So that’s why I’m thinking it might serve a good purpose as a display setting.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
