Right, but the only way that my comments can possibly be construed as a 'personal' attack is if anyone else knows who
you are. You know who you are, that's reflexive logic. No one else does. Ergo, it's not a personal attack.
A personal attack is a personal attack regardless if anyone else knows
the parties involved or not! Or do you feel less attacked when mugged in a
dark alley with no witnesses? If I personally insult you in private email is
that not a personal attack? I think you suffer from the misconception that
if no one knows who is being attacked then an attack isn't actually
happening. I'm sure that helps you feel better about yourself, and you are
a part of a long history of like minded people who were never hurting
"real" people either.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
