Well, Perl 5.8.6 was released on Nov 27 and haven't be noticed here yet.

So, get it at http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/N/NW/NWCLARK/perl-5.8.6.tar.gz and take a look at http://search.cpan.org/~nwclark/perl-5.8.6/pod/perl586delta.pod.

goto & is now more robust - bugs in deep recursion and chained goto & have been fixed.

What implications does this have for tail recursion? What bugs does this fix? It'd be nice if the delta had reference to the RT #'s ...

Being right, does not endow the right to be rude; politeness costs nothing.
Being unknowing, is not the same as being stupid.
Expressing a contrary opinion, whether to the individual or the group, is more often a sign of deeper thought than of cantankerous belligerence.
Do not mistake your goals as the only goals; your opinion as the only opinion; your confidence as correctness. Saying you know better is not the same as explaining you know better.

Also will be nice if they update the http://dev.perl.org site, and show 5.8.6 and not 5.8.5 as last release, since 10 days have past from day 27 until now.
