in thread Top goal for the coming new year

I've got quite a few things to make goals for, maybe the first thing I should do, is make a goal to make some goals. That would be a start, eh? It seems to be the only weight problem I have is a lack there of, which can really be a burden, especially when you eat like a wild boar. I suppose that goes along with getting in shape, but I have no motivation to do that. As far as the money thing, I suppose I could quit blowing my money on Cig's and Beer, but then I wouldn't have anything to do when my nerves are shot from working on something! I have a wonderful woman that is everything a Geek like me could want, SHE LOVES STAR WARS!

As far as becoming a Uber-Coder? I can tell you this, if I were to make any programming goals, it would be to become a more proficient programmer all around, especially in Perl. My luck isn't good enough to actually win the lottery, so I don't even try. I don't have a bad life, but I would improve some things. My job? WOAH, lets not go there, oh well, I've already started on it. Do you ever feel like you've wasted part of your life away? That’s how I feel when I walk into work. That first beep of the security key-badge before I walk in the door kills me. Tech Support for a cell phone company really is a bitch. This is an industry that loses more money in advertising because they tell folks that a Glorified CB radio, "Keeps You In Touch", anywhere in the US of A. Right, yeah right.

Oh Soo sorry, am I ranting? I'll leave you with this. Goals are for people that don't feel they live up to their potential. That’s awesome, but when your potential is not yet realized, Its hard to fathom having goals for much of anything.

Darn Tootin, Looks like I made some goals and didn't even realize it. Maybe I'm beginning to realize my potential?

Looks like my top goal is to realize my own potential in all of my abilities, and find areas of improvement. I can say, I am starting to realize my potential as a programmer. Thanks PerlMonks, you all are awesome.
