Perlmonks tags have a unique syntax for abbreviating URLs. I get plenty of messages from people informing me that I should switch:
Carter's compass: I know I'm on the right track when by deleting something, I'm adding functionality
to something like :<a href=http://perlmonks.org/?node_id=646560>here</a>
but I cannot remember the right syntax. And I dont enjoy having to remember yet another HTML shorthand: I already have Markdown, Asciidoc, GoogleCode, MoinMoin, reStructuredText and more to confuse me.[id://646560|here]
So instead of telling us what to put there, it should be an easy parse to transform it.
