Can someone tell be the difference between perl, Perl, and PERL?? I've been using perl for close to 10 years now, written some really awesome applications, and haven't the slightest clue.

The OP really demonstrates why first impressions and assumptions should never be used to make a final decision or judgement.

    perl is the compiler.

    Perl is the language.

    PERL is nothing (at least nothing in Perl context).
