It might be overkill, as it'll run for every request and not just those that generated errors, but I would think that an &lt;a href='http://perl.apache.org/docs/2.0/user/handlers/filters.html#C_PerlOutputFilterHandler_'&gt;Output Filter&lt;/a&gt; should be able to catch the 500s and re-write them.</field>
