After a typically silly &#91morning|afternoon|evening] in the ChatterBox, in which it was discovered that [Detonite|someone] had given himself a stylish hat in his homenode pic, I am proud to announce that 3rd - 10th July is Officially* PerlMonks Silly Hat WeekTM!

The concept it simple, those wishing to take part edit their homenode pictures to include a silly hat of whatever variety they choose into the photo and upload it for the duration of the week. Consider it a dress-down-Thursday for Perlmonks but with Silly HatsTM and for a whole week!

FAQ

Can I wear whatever hat I like?
Yes, any form of headgear is acceptable. As long as it doesn't break any of the other rules of homenode pics you can wear what you want (but please wear pants, [diotalevi|you know who you are]!)

How long can I wear my hat for?
Well, Perlmonks Silly Hat WeekTM Kind of implies this silliness lasts for a week, but I guess you could keep your hat on as long as you want.

Will there be prizes for the best hats?
No, unless you want to provide them and judge yourself.

$Some_other_monk has the same hat as me!
And now you know what women feel like when they go to a party and someone else is wearing the same dress.

<Update> Where's your hat?
<strike>It's not Monday yet, I need the whole weekend to prepare a suitably silly hat.</strike> Right there! What's your excuse?</Update>

* Silly Hat Week is in no way endorsed by perlmonks.org

My cow-orkers were talking in punctuation the other day. What disturbed me most was that I understood it.
