Excellent article!!&lt;P&gt;
Although these are typical of 'beginners' , I would 
like/not like to point out that I've seen some 'veterans' who 
tend to make the same mistakes. &lt;P&gt;
I'm not entirely without guilt, either.  I recently took a look at 
some 'old' code (developed in '97 when I was starting to learn Perl) and saw some wonderful 
examples of what you have pointed out above.
