He is not claimed as one and Friends had the habit of meticulous record keeping. <p> There are few Quakers who are household names in American history. The foremost would be William Penn, Rufus Jones, Herbert Hoover, and Richard Nixon. <p> It is not Friends' practice to devil worship, but mistakes happen.
