Math::Pari question

by sheidkam (Initiate)
on Nov 06, 2012 at 23:14 UTC ( #1002600=perlquestion: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
sheidkam has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I need to install Math::Pari on Ubuntu 12.04 running under VirtualBox inorder to get Net::SFTP installed. Using another package is not an option, as this is in support of existing code.

The issue is with mpinl.h, which doesn't seem to exist... any thoughts? thanks!

    Net::SFTP::Foreign::Compat is compatible with Net::SFTP and far easier to install. It is even available as a debian package.

    Then in your scripts, in order to use it, you will have to add the following line at the beginning:

    use Net::SFTP::Foreign::Compat ':supplant';

    Or another option that does not require changing your code is to create a file named Net/ in some place under your @INC path with the following content:

    use Net::SFTP::Foreign::Compat ':supplant'; 1;
