in thread Fix-it fix-it fix-it!

The thread won't be removed (it doesn't meet the criteria for reaping), and please don't obliterate the node's content. It's a harmless learning experience that others may benefit from as well.

Noted - maybe somebody else can use my script in the future if they correct that mistake :P

Because you posted as a registered user, please also consider changing the title of the OP to something that might allow someone with a similar problem to search for and find this solution. Please see How do I compose an effective node title?. Suggestion: "Global symbol ... requires explicit package name" error under strictures, but variable is in scope.

Corion watches with pleasure that Future::AsyncAwait now also works on 5.16. I think 5.14 is a good baseline for "modern" Perl, and that's only one release away from 5.16
[Corion]: (and I really like the async and await keywords as they do away with lots of anonymous subroutines)
