Cant Install Crypt::SSLeay in Win 7 (64) Activestate Perl

Matt™ has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks, I am unable to install Crypt::SSLeay in windows ActiveState Perl. Can anyone pls suggest me what to do..?

Set up gcc environment - 3.4.5 (mingw-vista special r3) --> Working on Crypt::SSLeay Fetching http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/N/NA/NANIS/Crypt-SSLea +y-0.64.tar .gz ... OK Configuring Crypt-SSLeay-0.64 ... OK Building and testing Crypt-SSLeay-0.64 ... FAIL ! Installing Crypt::SSLeay failed. See \.cpanm\build.log for details.

    So, what does build.log say? I believe I posted a set of patches for the module to its bug tracker, have you applied them?

    It's a pain that (IMO) you shouldn't have to endure, but just humour cpanm, check out what \.cpanm\build.log has to say on the matter and report back here (if \.cpanm\build.log doesn't tell you anything that makes sense to you).
