Perl arrays are zero-based. When you split to <c>@array </c>the <em>third</em> column will actually end up in <c>$array[2]</c>. So you may want to review your indexes in the <c>if</c> test to see if you are matching the right columns.<p>Also, contrary to your explanation, the fields of <c>A.txt</c> actually end up in <c>@text</c> and the fields of <c>B.txt</c> end up in <c>@textpac</c>.<!-- Node text goes above.
