The Monastery is what you make of it and what you get out of it depends heavily on that. Think of an Eastern style ascetic monk seeking enlightenment, and you will do better. Along those lines, consider that the Monks you encounter here are volunteering their time and expertise and then meditate on whether your actions have shown them respect or disregard and entitlement.
