I have the download version of Modern Perl as well as Learning Perl, Programming Perl, and the Perl Cookbook. I like docs on paper.
There's never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over...
Use two parentheses: (Like this: :) )
Use one parenthesis: (Like this: :)
Reverse direction of the smiley: (Like this: (: )
Use angle/square brackets instead of parentheses
Use C-style commenting to set the smiley off from the closing parenthesis
Make the smiley a dunce: (:>
