yep i use @_,in my code typo in the post.
i tested it on my server, and there was something in @_,
but not on my notebook.

re-compiling everything right now :)

EDIT: now i get a filled @_ with the expected Gtk2::Button object in it
whatever it was a recompile install fixed at least my issue

    weird, but I've seen weirder :)

      indeed,
      it was very confusing, especially because i did not know if there would be data in @_ using the glade stuff
      and now back to prototyping ;)
