in thread I usually boil water for tea using a(n) ...

      If you're backpacking,

My last backpacking trip was in 2002 with a bunch of youth from our church. My knees won't deal with backpacking any more unfortunately.

That's no fun, sorry to hear that.

I have used a JetBoil for quickly boiling water on regular campouts as well, sometimes to impress youth campers, sometimes just to brew up a cup of coffee because I wanted one. Much easier than turning on the stove or starting a fire. And way cooler. :)

[marto]: if you mean the recent hyperthreading bug, I don't think that's NSA related?
[zentara]: s/thread/cpu/
[marto]: xkcd://538
[Discipulus]: these opcodes mentioned in the wiki pages are the same opcode perl is translated into? or is just the same term but in different fields?
[zentara]: it's useful if you want to lockup a multicore machine :-)
