G'day McA, Whenever I've asked a question, I've made a point of individually thanking all those who replied. Even if the answer wasn't particularly helpful, I can still thank them for taking the time to answer. Where I see others taking the time to individually thank those who've helped them, they'll often garner quite a few upvotes from me. I would never Consider a thankyou node as OT; nor have I ever seen anyone else do this. Basically, a thankyou is just common courtesy and good manners. I don't see what could be disturbing about someone saying thankyou. Perhaps I've misunderstood your intent. -- Ken
