in reply to Perl File Handling

Steps:

  1. Describe what constitutes an e-commerce site as a series of tests. If I were you, I would look for price symbols, popular e-commerce keywords like 'shopping cart' or 'buy'.
  2. Learn the mechanics of opening a file in Perl and reading its contents. There's this neato tool called perldoc and if you use it with the -f or -q flags you can learn things about popular Perl functions. Also, try Googling.
  3. Apply your tests to each file and rank them based on how many tests they passed.

Whether present or past it is doubtful that people are going to do your homework for you on Perlmonks.
