in thread Huffington Post: "Let's Do Away With Anonymous Posting"

"This is the first time I've seen this discussion on PM, so as someone who's interested in the concept of anonymous contributions on the internet, I'd like to know where's the place this discussion is actually happening."

Unsurprisingly this section Perl Monks Discussion deals with discussion of the Perlmonks website. The article in question has a comments section should you care to comment on that. Responses to the many efforts from this user have not all been restricted to anonymous posting on this site, but general responses to preserving anonymous posting and issues including creating throwaway accounts in order to post which seems to negate efforts to required an account (and associated identity) to post. Various freedoms/rights groups post content on this subject from time to time (EFF etc). Who do you want to air your opinions to? Which organisation/body are you looking to reach? If you're looking for something specific.

I'm going to admit I'm starting to get annoyed. I would hope that it would be obvious that when I say in a thread in the PerlMonks discussion area of PM that I'm interested in the idea of anonymity, that I mean I'm interested in discussing the idea of anonymous posting in the context of PerlMonks.org. Perhaps this is not as obvious to others as it is to me.

The the "obvious" place to discuss this is Perl Monks Discussion, as stated, a link to Where should I post X? is (by default) displayed each time you post. You posted in a thread discussing anonymous posting, with many links to recent (and older) discussions on anonymous posting on Perlmonks. Reasonably enough there isn't a section of the forum dedicated to discussing anonymous monk, though the casual reader of PMD could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. Begining to get annoyed about this seems pointless.

You said "with many links to recent (and older) discussions on anonymous posting on Perlmonks."

Where are these links? All the links I saw were links to unpopular posts by the OP, which were not about anonymous posting.

What am I missing? Is there some setting you have that shows links I don't see?

        This is an honest question.
