    ARRRGH!!

Yes, the laws are stupid, but so are the adults that not only ALLOW it, but foster these mindsets in their children (and in the case of people like teachers, care givers, etc) and in our own.

The Law makers don't know how else to tell you to STOP TELLING YOUR KIDS THAT IT'S OKAY TO DISCRIMINTATE!!

We tell them through OUR actions, how we treat women, or other races, etc.

Why do we need an ammendment declaring equal rights for women?!? It's all ready stated in the constitution that we are all created equal, did we need that clarified? That it was WRONG to discriminate against women?!? Apparantly so, and it still hasn't worked. Dammit. It's like helmet laws for motorcycles. I don't think there should be helmet laws, but only because I HOPE that it will start weeding out the idiots who don't think it's smart to wear them. As a close friend of mine that does NVH testing for Harley said "So what if they crash them...We'll make more"

    But I digress.

The point is being missed. You're right, laws aren't going to change this. How we think, act and believe needs to be effected, and if we start by teaching our children what is right, not by societies standards per se, but by human standards, then it will change. Law makers see the problem, but they can't make us change the way we think, or teach our children, so they do what they can, as ineffective as it is.

We ALL need to look in the mirror and poin the finger of blame, only then do we have a chance.

    C-.
