For the curious, the specification I found for Apache Avro lives here.

Personally, I will never touch anything called Avro, as it reminds me of the Avro Arrow, a miracle of Canadian Engineering that scrapped by idiot politicians.

    Also, don't forget the Dutch public broadcaster, the delightful AVRO. They've got some interesting programmes to look at, if you can understand Dutch, that is ;-)
