in thread Having our anonymous cake and eating it too

Other readers: I know marto (in the sense of "many years of both being users of PMonks") and so I know that he cannot both be speaking with integrity and yet also be saying that there is no reason he knows of why anything should change. That's a shame. I like seeing people act and speak with integrity.
...

If I were a new reader (I am not, and not trying to deceive anyone about having been involved in PMonks for a long time myself, and having been involved in acrimony here) ...I can place myself (its a mental talent I have) in the head of a new reader, and as that new reader, I would (if I was wise) surmise that this group of heavily invested PMonks users believe that the site belongs to them much more than to anyone else.
...

Please relegate that sort of diatribe to your home node, where you denounce some of your fellow monks with all the integrity and talent you have to place yourself into someone else's head. Btw, stay out of mine.

From last week, when he, shmem first posted this reply, the text of this node has been changed. Editing nodes after a substantial time has elapsed (time in which people can evaluate a node and, if they like and are not AM, up/down vote it, is very frowned upon at PMonks.

The change I noticed is not a trivial edit of some typo or spelling error.

So all I need reply, shmem, is: “Please seek out the elder monks and seek guidance about committing such breaches of PMonks site-Netiquette”

Examine what is said, not who speaks.
Love the truth but pardon error.
    Silence betokens consent.
In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.
The change I noticed is not a trivial edit of some typo or spelling error.

      Please substantiate your claim.

I have edited a significant amount of nodes and have never failed to mark such edits in one or another way, in most cases with the string "update:".
