in thread When putting a smiley right before a closing parenthesis, do you:

Frowns in parenthetical usage? Why not:

  • (   :<(   )
    ...or
  •      .  .
           ̑
          ...or

  •             —   :-(   —
                ...among other possibilities?

In the end its a question of habit and standards.
