tmaly has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I was looking for an Alien package for the Go language, but came up empty. I was thinking of creating one.

Can someone offer some advice on getting started on using the Alien framework as I have not used it before?

Best regards,

Ty

Take a look at the Alien group on github. There is quite a bit of discussion there. The last time I communicated (you may even find my name in some of the earlier discussions) the group was very eager to push development forward to make this a usable framework.

There's a tweet about calling Go from Perl: "go build buildmode=c-shared, and a stub in XS to handle arguments and call the exported function"

see this twitter thread - perhaps that user can help with that prior art.
