Born 1948. Retired 2011 after 35 year career in corporate IT. Currently semi-retired and working a few hours a week for my former employer, customizing their DRM environment to better interface with their applications. Although I have degrees in mathematics and computer science, I consider myself not a computer scientist, or a software engineer, just a really good software mechanic, who also happens to understand a little about computer hardware. I have occasionally written small Perl s‎crip‎ts over the years and am continuing to learn. I also have an odd sense of humor and the more I learn about Perl, the more I like it.
