Most well-known Perl-powered product?

I had the pleasure this afternoon of being interviewed by a local, online publication about our new Perl Mongers group (http://niceville.pm.org). Among other things, the interviewer asked me to name a Perl-powered product that would be known by many lay persons. I have found one list here, but I'm afraid most non-programmers I know would not recognize most, if not all, of those. Realizing that the interviewer's audience are local non-techies, how would you respond?

My off-the-cuff response was big, open-source projects like Linux, Git, and Subversion use Perl behind the scenes, but she has given me a chance to come up with something perhaps more well-known to the average iPad user. So any better suggestions are welcome and will help in a small way to spread the word about Perl.

Thanks for any input.

    NSA FoxAcid?

And we know since a while (1999)! Interview with Larry Wall:
Marjorie: Who is using Perl and how are they using it?

Larry: A couple of years ago, I ran into someone at a trade show who was representing the NSA (National Security Agency). He mentioned to someone else in passing that he'd written a filter program in Perl, so without telling him who I was, I asked him if I could tell people that the NSA uses Perl. His response was, “Doesn't everyone?” So now I don't tell people the NSA uses Perl. I merely tell people the NSA thinks everyone uses Perl. They should know, after all.

    pool.ntp.org
Consumers won't know it, but you can tell them that it keeps the time for ~ 15 million servers on the internet, thus allowing on-line commerce to work. (Computers are stupid and if the time appears to go backwards by a little bit they mostly can't handle it.)

The way forward always starts with a minimal test.

      Thanks!

There is "Unrar Extract and Recover"
it's a popular end user, niche (and ugly looking!) app for Windows but written in Perl

Check these reviews for more info:
    unrar-extract-and-recover.giga.de/
    www.download3k.com/System-Utilities/Compression-Utilities/Download-Unrar-Extract-and-Recover.html

      Excellent example--thanks!

Another one, the open source web-based network management tool App::Netdisco.

    Cheers.

      Thank you!
