Given that it is a core module maintained by the perl5-porters, and you have only a non reproducible anecdote from years ago, you should consider your experience with the module out of date and avoid giving advice based on that.

    sundialsvc4 has no first hand experience (he doesn't know perl), its all second and third hand information he doesn't understand and is passing off as his own
