A lot of people say "$foo" because they have some experinece in c-shell or the like, where $foo == 'a' can turn into / == 'a' as opposed to '/' == 'a' which causes an error. I find it doesn't bug me as much as it used to.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
