Is there any interest in temporarily offering editor status to a sufficiently advanced user who is not (yet) an editor? This could be offered to a user in the event that there are no editors about, in the unlikely event that a post needs fixing. I'm thinking this wouldn't apply to modifying the code that runs the site or anything like that .. just removing offensive/copyrighted material or personal information. The user could accept (if they're going to be on for a while) or decline (if they don't have time). --t. alex "Mud, mud, glorious mud.
