Buzzcutbuddha: Date Time Stamp For Private Messages

by buzzcutbuddha (Chaplain)

I was thinking that a date time stamp should be (pre/a)ppended to the private messages that show up in the Chatterbox so we can tell when someone msgd us. Sometimes, people from different time zones will msg me and I am not sure in what context they are speaking.

Of course this would be able to turned on/off in the prefs.

If you use the private message XML ticker, it has the time/date stamp in format yyyymmddhhmmss. I don't know if any of these chatterbox clients show you this info, but it should be pretty easy to add.
If this were an option on the web chatterbox, maybe show the date (and maybe time) if not today, otherwise just the time.
btw - the times in the ticker is PerlMonks time.

[atcroft]: Lady_Aleena: I found the L<name|section> syntax, which describes linking to a perl manual page, and L<text|url> to link to a web page. The reason I asked was because I was on search.cpan.org looking at a module,
[atcroft]: and it referred to several other modules, but the links went to metacpan.org. I found that a bit of a surprise, and it got me wondering if there was a "standard" way to link to other modules in the documentation on CPAN.
